Clarification: The question is about the impact on healthcare cost of routine barrage of threats that give rise to concern on the part of many citizens that their quality of life will be destroyed by discrimination sanctioned by a president who directly and indirectly sanctions discriminatory behaviors that would have been unthinkable under any president since slavery was abolished and women and minorities were granted right to vote. Fear of discriminatory acts is rampant.

n.b. In spite of Trump's campaign promise to dismantle Obama's ACA - it would appear that he will retain most major portions of the ACA - including those portions guaranteeing coverage for previously uninsurable patients - and coverage for pre-existing conditions for otherwise insurable patients. The point of retaining these rather costly provisions of the ACA is to collect insurance premiums from patients whose care would otherwise fall to free government subsidized federal block grant supported community hospital / clinic care programs.

Talk about wild and unsupported accusations...and no factual basis to support it. Who's quality of life? the one is currently getting a tax payer supported medical policy or the tax payer who is paying to support someone's else's medical policy? It's called wealth re-distribution. And I for one choose not to participate. I pay MY FAIR SHARE. Period. The Government should not be in the health care insurance business in the first place. Semper Fi.

MGySgt your right! When the government tries to run and control anything it is always worse. When the last President told us, we could keep our doctor's and our insurance! We all thought he was being great, but that was when health insurance went sky high and deductibles were on the rise. The cost of insurance has not gone down and will only continue to go up. If you think socialized medicine is a great thing go to Canada! You have to wait for services, and be approved to have certain operations. But if you believe the government can do better keep voting for the liberal candidates! Semper FI!

ACA was getting unaffordable. Insurance companies were starting to not cover many areas in states. I worked as an RN for over 30 years dealing with rules nonmedical or medical paper pushers made. We don't want the government in our medical decisions.

You seem to be flailing with your question. How exactly has "Trump rhetoric" risen the cost of healthcare. That same healthcare that our current President signed into law under penalty of severe fines if we didn't sign up for it. Where exactly did his rhetoric come into play when premiums have been rising and the costs of healthcare have been ridiculous LONG BEFORE he announced his bid for President.

Next... can you please explain where you think people are "ok" with having an imperialistic dictator because that's an argument I haven't heard before and frankly as far as I'm concerned there is NO ONE in this country who wants a dictator which is why we have term limits.

Your next "paragraph" is barely a coherent thought.

"Do we support the continuous barrage of press conferences, midnight tweets, and media interviews of presidential proxies - all threatening dire consequences to major portions of our population who have grown to believe, trust, and rely on the constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and the right to enjoy life, liberty, and happiness?"

Now if I take this part of your sentence -
[Do we support the continuous barrage of press conferences, midnight tweets, and media interviews of presidential proxies]

The answer is yes. We live in a techno-savvy world where the next big story is literally a click away. There's no more waiting for a story "hot off the presses". Every media outlet is going to be jumping the gun and rushing to be the first source to "break" a new story.

Then there's this bit -
[all threatening dire consequences to major portions of our population who have grown to believe, trust, and rely on the constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and the right to enjoy life, liberty, and happiness?"]

Are you trying to imply that the media is a threat to our Constitutional rights? Where is the connection to Trump? Like I said, not a coherent argument.

Lastly, you end with this gem -
[I personally object to the concept that some strangers (just because they feel like they are privileged white men - empowered by Trump's example and rhetoric) would grab me - and I am likely to put them in hospital, in the ground, or worse.]

Well congratulations. Good for you. You are a normal human being. I don't know anyone who wouldn't object to some stranger trying to grope them. Not sure what connection you're trying to make though. Are you saying Trump is going to legalize sexual assault? Do you believe we are so primitive of a society that we really need a law to tell us sexual assault is a bad thing. Do you really believe that the majority of our moral compasses are so skewed that we can't tell right from wrong.

I'm sorry, but like I said, you are flailing wildly with both your question and your supporting description.

SSG Matt LaFramboise - So you'd be ok with President Clinton? I'll take the President's tweets anyday over moving on my private gun rights, men in every ladies room, a fully liberal Supreme Court, etc. etc. Keep drinking the Kool-aid SSG. #MAGA (PS - have a 401K? have you looked at it lately? Mines up 27% in the last year. Those results would possibly be reversed under a President Clinton. Enjoy your money.

Cpl Justin Goolsby - I like his tweets. They are like a laser pointer, and the media are like cats. He plays them and the liberals like a fine Stradivarius. Does it always work? No, but more often than not. He is not a politician.

I have several friends who are paying as much monthly for health care coverage as they are for the monthly mortgage and for some reason the can't get covered by Obamacare... and still others have totally lost their coverage ... since 2009 because of the ACA... Not only was it wrong and a screwed Up mess But as total travesty...

Insurance, like Blue Cross and Blue Shield, used to be non-profit. Let that sink in. Non-profit insurance was affordable and did not drive up costs.

We were promised free healthcare by a previous president. We were promised reform in the medical industry. what he delivered was mandatory health insurance. Subsidized and inferior health plans replaced many good efficient health plans, many of which turned into plans one step above Medicare. Medical expenses still soar. Simple basic procedures still cost in the thousands. We still pay out the nose, for medications that only cost pennies to produce. They had eight years to do this and failed. Our current president is trying to tear that down and start over. The right promised this for years. Where was their plan? We need to have politicians keep their grubby paws off of health care, unless they are looking to fix the price gouging industry.

If you do your homework you’ll see that we’ve had 5 dems and 5 Republicans as POTUS. The house and senate have been pretty much decided down the same lines. Nothing has changed except more government in our personal lives. But we’ll just keep on arguing who’s fault it is until doomsday. If you’re preprogrammed to vote Democrat you’ll do so and blame the Republicans. Conversely if you’re preprogrammed Republican you’ll vote that way and it’s all the democrats fault. Until we realize it’s all our faults for blindly following these clowns the status quo will remain. Carry on men/women.
