The members of the West Coast Drill Instructor Association gathered at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on Sept. 16, 2016, for their annual reunion. Several events were held culminating in the final competition “The Best Damn Cadence Calling Contest in the West.”

The cadence call, the thing that instills so much in to the service member when they are first introduced into their new families. Whether it be Army, Marines, Navy or Air Force the cadiance calls to them when heard, as the cement that binds the unit sets fast together we are unstoppable. Let no one separate us for together we are a force to be recond with. I still get chills when I hear a cadence call and it's uplifting and brings a smile to my face. THE CADANCE, lesson in being a team and part of something important.
