I am going to be applying for an Admin/Supply assistance in the AGR world and will have an interview in a couple of weeks. I am wanting to see if anyone can officer advice, based on past experience, on what to expect, what kind of questions they may ask, and what to study?

Thanks in advance!

I have been AGR for about 15 years. I have hired a few folks and I have sat on a few boards. Here is my advice: Know something about the unit, Their Mission, how the unit is broken down, how many sections are there. What the MTOE looks like. Number of people they are authorized, and the number of people they currently have. How can you as a Supply SGT help unit readiness, and how that affects the USR. How can you as a Supply SGT affect the Moral of the unit? Is the unit in just one location or do they have a DET somewhere else. Go talk to someone in the unit now and find out where the unit needs some work and how will you help fix that shortfall. Don't go into the interview and say you want the job because you want to be AGR. Let them know you want to make a difference in the unit, and to help out soldiers. What do you know about GCSS-Army and how will you help implement that program.

1. In the AGR world, here's how it works.
They already know who they're going to hire. So if you're not already on their list of BFF's. Your chances are slim.

Know what AR covers correspondence, AR 25-50. Know the CSDP, command and supply discipline program. Be able to convey you know how to use a computer. Know physical security. Look sharp when you go for the interview, sit up straight, make direct eye contact and don't figit or look off during questioning. Being MOSQ for the duty position helps a lot as well. Be able to articulate how you will balance personal life with AGR life, also how you will balance your daily job with your weekend guard job. In a lot of units the admin/supply is the same MOS as the unit. Ours were 11B and served as a team leader during drill.

In my old unit We have 3 AGR staff 1 readiness E-7 position and that person has to hold an MOS within the unit training is an E-6 slot and has the same MOS standards. The supply Sgt is only required to be 92Y and it is an E-6 slot. Supply is a different animal in most cases I would shy away from AGRs being in critical platoon rolls. Example if your a supply sgt. And a squad leader besides the 80 other soldiers he or she has to worry about they then have to shift focus on there soldiers. I usually find that when this happens either the AGR job suffers or the soldiers suffer

For a short time we had four positions. Readiness, training, supply, and admin/supply. The admin/supply was an 11B slot like training and readiness. He was a team leader at drill and did mostly admin stuff during the week to heals readiness.
