I think why the Mez Perce people had won was, because they knew the terrain well, they did save the Lewis & Clark expedition many times, and they had those great snow camouflaged appaloosa horses.

Training with the SF at Bragg, it was always repeated, quote, "You have to catch em, before you can kill em", un-quote.

Just saying, the SF were quite good at doing what they are saying. "Fighting solders from the sky, these are men who jump and die, 100 men, will test today, and only 3 in the Green Beret".
Going out to all you Green Bennie's out there! And, sorry that I called you Girl Scouts on Smoke Bomb Hill in the 70's, as I ran by your PT field. Lol ATW

I have a permanent spot in my heart for the Nez Perce. They were so close to freedom but ended up in a reservation, spirits broken.
