9/11 First Responders Are Barred from Entering the Memorial

From the story: As Americans across the country prepare to observe the 20th anniversary of 9/11, one group of those impacted by the terrorist attacks is being excluded from official ceremonies at Ground Zero in lower Manhattan (Townhall.com). https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2021/09/09/911-survivors-first-responders-excluded-from-20th-anniversary-events-at-ground-zero-n2595611
From the New York Post: In years past, the reading of the names of 2,983 deceased has been attended by Presidents Bush and Obama, US senators, governors and other dignitaries. This year, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum sent the usual invitations to the relatives of the victims saying, “The ceremony will be exclusively for 9/11 family members” (NY Post). https://nypost.com/2021/08/14/9-11-memorial-excludes-first-responders-survivors-on-20th-anniversary/

Many First Responders died trying to save people. This isn't going to sit well with everyone.

We’ve got to wonder why this was done. Maybe to de-emphasize the event and avoid negative publicity? This will likely have the opposite affect.
