Former Tempe teacher arrested for sexual exploitation of 13-year-old student

It seems like there are one of these types of stories every week in the news both locally and nationally. It seems that child predators have become very emboldened these days. Part of the issue may be the punishment seldom fits the crime.

It is also astonishing to me that so many women seem okay with predation on young boys in their charge. I wonder what the mental gymnastics must look like for some of these people to go from teacher to sexual partner.

The problem is first they let them off by just resigning instead of prosecuting because it is cleaner. These teachers need to be held accountable for their actions, plus I hate to say it there is a double standard. If a male teacher has contact with a female student he most likely will go to jail. But if a female teacher has contact with a male student in some cases, resign and leave the district. Which means she can get another job as a teacher somewhere and never be put on a sex offender registry.

One sick and depraved individual.
