Thank you, my friend and brother-in-Christ ~810011:SSG William Jones] for posting the Billy Graham devotional for Monday, September 23, 2019 "How to Handle Temptation"
To be honest it is best to avoid temptation. The one temptation area that men and boys are told to run away from is sexual temptation.
The premise that "The difference between a Christian and a non-Christian is: though they both may have good and evil thoughts, " Christ gives His followers strength to select the right rather than the wrong."" is not accurate on several points. (1) The Holy Spirit protects those elected by God before they are justified; (2) The LORD uses believers and non-believers to advance HIS kingdoms for HIS own reasons; (3) the illogical reasoning in that statement is obvious since many believers have given into temptation and some repeatedly in the same area.

God is under no obligation to protect us from our failures. We learn more deeply from failing than success. The Helmet of Salvation protects us from the onslaughts of the evil one
It is wise to remember than sin and temptation do not come from the outside of us. Sin and temptation are linked to our heart/soul which is being sanctified by the Holy Spirit throughout our life.
Praise the LORD and Glory to HIS Name.

Good evening brother Bill. On the subject of temptation, I can tell you from personal experience that it isn't always easy to overcome. But I have found a true and proven way to do just that.
When faced with temptation I ask Jesus for help to avoid that pitfall and to lead me away from it.
He has never let me down and never, ever will.
Have a blessed and restful evening.
Peace be with you and upon your house.

As I mentioned to Doug in this thread, our Lord will provide an "out" for us if we'll just recognize it.
God bless you and yours, Brother Wayne.
