SPC Margaret Higgins I did and I am still going through it, I did 25 years and 3 days in the Army. Its a process, you just can't dump it over night. With 6 combat tours I am going to the VA for counseling and its ongoing. Life goes on, but the military will always be with me until the end of time. Too Sweet of memories to let go!

You are a brave, brave man and Soldier; Joe. SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL I am sure that certain memories (Either some or all) of combat; are very, very, very difficult to forget; let go of, etc.
As you know, I admire you greatly....and now-even more.
Man, SIX combat tours and TWENTY-FIVE YEARS IN THE ARMY...I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU DID IT.

SPC Margaret Higgins thanks for the support, I appreciate it with all my breath. Your right and I am so blessed. It was a rollercoaster, but hey I stuck with it and survived to tell my story. Life is precious and I know I am on borrowed time and I must stay within his word and give God the glory each and everyday of my life. Amen!

I had a Lot of problems adapting to civilian life. I asked my father: "What is important in life?" He responded with: "A lot of things are automatic."

I get that; PO1 John Miller. Try thinking of it this way: human beings, such as civilians, deserve my respect; until they prove otherwise. I deserve respect as a Sailor; however, I can't expect respect until it is earned with each individual civilian.

I totally agree. I also give respect to everyone until they show they no longer deserve it.
A lot of times when a civilian "potato" as I call them when finding out I'm a veteran will ask me stupid questions like "Did you kill anyone" or "Do you have PTSD" and those are the people I hate talking to.
