I go to fort Benning for basic in about 8 weeks Jan 09. I absolutely need money in my pocket. Do I get a job now?

If I do get a job am I protected from getting fired while at basic? Asking this because I want this job when I get back but I don't want the bad rep for leaving so early.

Absolutely take the job. You cannot just sit idle for this time and do nothing. This would benefit you monetarily as well as boosting your self-esteem.

Your previous post said that you were in DEPS. If you have signed a DEPS enlistment contract, you will be going active duty. You will be away for more than Basic Training. You do realize that right? If you need the money, take a job until you leave for training.

Take the job. Most states have protections. Use Google to find out proper way to take military leVe of absence from your employer.
