After Deadly Capitol Riot, Fox News Stays Silent On Stars' Incendiary Rhetoric

Among some prominent Republicans, inside social media companies and in other major institutions throughout society, a reckoning has erupted following the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday.
Not at the Fox News Channel, however. On the contrary, the network that has helped shape conservative politics in the U.S. for more than two decades has yet to acknowledge how the heated rhetoric radiating from its shows and stars may have helped inspired the pro-Trump rampage.
Comments from prominent Fox News hosts and guests had helped stoke the MAGA mob's fury for the two months following the November elections. In December, Fox Business host Lou Dobbs said opponents of Trump throughout the government had committed "treason," and later suggested that any Republican who upheld Biden's victory in the Electoral College may be "criminal."
Three days before the protest that turned into the riot, Fox News host Mark Levin told viewers, "If we don't fight on January 6th on the floor of the Senate and the House - and that is the joint meeting of Congress on these electors - then we are done."

And they won't. None of them will accept any responsibility in their roles that help reinforce the fears and prejudices of their audience nor in the events leading up to the invasion of our Capitol by these insurrectionists.

I think we could play quotes from virtually every media personality and denizen of the Capitol that escalated the animosity.

Did people on the Left erect a gallows with the intent to hang the VP and sitting members of Congress? No
Did they protest? Absolutely
Did some engage in criminal activity? Yes BUT they weren't escorted from where they were protesting by police, were they?
Why are you choosing to engage in "whataboutism" and "bothsidesism?" If you applauded what happened to demonstrators in 2017, during the Kavenaugh hearings, and the demonstrations over the summer, why aren't you holding people that hold the same opinions as you to the same standard?

But for me it is personal.
These motherfuckers drove me from my Minneapolis home of 18 years. burning down my post office, my bank, police precinct, several businesses and looting many more. I saw them for what they were firsthand, as I pulled guard duty with my fellow neighbors to ensure our homes weren't attacked while the feckless mayor of Minneapolis watched things burn.
Those weren't right-wing cats doing that.
They are all scum.
And the minute that we started selectively enforcing laws for unlawful assembly is the moment this shit got out of control.
But for me it is personal.

1SG (Join to see) - I am truly sorry that happened to you. That was wrong and never should have happened to you. That being said, there should not be selective enforcement of the law. "One Standard" should apply to everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from. Sadly, what we saw on January 6th was the exact opposite of the "One Standard" of law enforcement a highlighted how there are two justice systems in America not just in race, but also in political ideology

And let the great purge begin. lets get something straight no bullshit - every goddamn politician, celebrity, and prominent media personality contributed to this - there is NO FUCKING SIDES to this, from mock trump beheadings, to Cuomo stating "where does it say protests must be peaceful", to Hannity and Carlson spouting democrats will bring about a new era of stalinism, to Pelosi going on Tik-Tok saying her opponents have chosen whiteness over democracy, to a PBS Lawyer saying, and I kid you not, to remove children from Trump supporters/voters and put them in camps, to "mostly peaceful" protests. Fuck all of you who believe their "side" is clean in all this, fuck all of you who believe you have any moral or high ground to stand on in all of this, all of you have had hundreds and thousands of opportunities to de escalate this over the years, even now, fingers are pointing, vengeance and retribution is the focus, how the fuck do expect things to heal, if we continue down this path?
I am truly ashamed of being a U.S. citizen right now, and it is not because of January 6th, its because of this aftermath. I thank God I have dual citizenship, because now I do not have to claim I am a U.S. citizen.
