When I worked at Great Circle, those kids were all in state custody and moved a lot more then you would think they would, either to different facilities or in and out of different foster settings, and they were always lugging all their stuff in one or two trash bags. It's sad. If you have old suitcases you no longer need, give them to one of the local children's facilities. Better there than gathering dust in the garage or attic.

Another good choice. And to women's shelters is another.

We have a few suitcases I need to get gone. Now I have 2 good choices. Thanks for the post/reminder!

Most of my old but good clothes, or things I just don't wear, go to Ark of the Ozarks, an organization that cares for mentally challenged adults. Most other cast off possessions go to the DAV. They might as well have the stuff, if I had a garage sale I'd only get peanuts for it all, anyway.

Gives some kids in tough circumstances just a little of their dignity back.
