This has got to be one of my favorite calibers. Seriously, if you are prepping for the Bugaboo this is your match.
The .308 Winchester is a rimless, bottle-necked, rifle cartridge and is the commercial cartridge from which the 7.62×51mm NATO round was derived. The .308 Winchester was introduced in 1952, two years prior to the NATO adoption of the 7.62×51mm NATO T65. Winchester branded the cartridge and introduced it to the commercial hunting market as the .308 Winchester.

I have a .308 Savage, I like this round. I also like the 7.62 x 54R when I can find in brass case and not steel case. It just extracts better.

Great round. I have M1A1s and a Remington 700 PS IN this caliber.

We used it in our M14's. Our qualifying targets included 400 meters.
