IMO voters have gotten into the habit of saying "I'm voting republican" or "I'm voting democrat" and not realizing the full scope of what their party's platform entails. For example, I didn't vote in the primaries, because I am independent, I chose to vote for the person, not the party. I believe in a woman's right to choose, but also strongly in the 2nd amendment. I feel if more people research the candidates, then make their decision- their choices might be clearer.

Of course, and many do the homework. Too many do not.

My point is if e vote for party them we have no right to expect those elected to not put party first because that is what the voter has indicated is desired.

GySgt Melissa Gravila - Most people have done that for years. What has changed is the culture opinion which it is not considered dishonorable to only take care of number one as a politician.
