"Black, Hispanic and Native Americans are dying from Covid at nearly three times the rate of white Americans, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analysis."
So..where are the priorities in who gets vaccinated?

Too many other factors to even begin to go into contribute to this. Locally they are targeting this group and it seems to be helping.

At least locally, NO ONE is getting the vaccine except First Responders, (police, fire, EMS) and hospital staff. My own elderly parents (78 and 81) can't even get on the list and both are "high risk" due to multiple health factors. I can't speak to other geographic areas as I don't have first hand exposure.

My point exactly. First responders ..hospital front line..etc..getting theirs first make sense...then it has to be prioritized by age..genetics..folks with pre-existing conditions,,
AOC is age 31 ish....she got hers...duhhh
The local VAs up this way are vaccinating on a pretty good clip Bud...hoping your Mom & Dad are scheduled as we speak..

SSG Brian G. - Are they violating Federal guidelines?
Here is the guideline that appears to be the one that you are referring to -
Healthcare personnel and residents of long-term care facilities should be offered the first doses of COVID-19 vaccines (1a)
I see nothing in MSgt Steven Holt's statement that indicates or states that his parents are residents of a long-term care facility. My own mother and step-father are even older than Mr. Holt's parents and if they do not qualify as a 1a category recipient either. They do however qualify as category 1b.
