While Mr Trump campaigned as sympathetic to LGBT rights, he needs the traditional religious conservatives to stay loyal to him now, more than ever.

Vague? Please explain! This military has been winning wars for 200+ years and we have always had people who did not me enlistment standards. Hell even Audie Murphy was denied enlistment into the marines, nobody gave a shit about that, but because the LGBT-Q community is a protected class all of a sudden they should all be allowed to serve. You can't serve if you don't meet height and weight standards, have bad credit, criminal record, or mental issues. What about those people? There are reasons they are not allowed to serve and if you are not currently serving and having to live in this situation you really can't understand or see the issues that are being delt with. The media will spin this and make you believe all transgenders in the military are serving with distinction, however that is far fetched and very untrue. There are issues and the American people need to have faith in our current administration and military leaders to keep the country on track.

So I hear people say Trans people are mentally unstable so the should be MEB'd with full medical care for this instability.

If Cost is main reason then the military should stop treating everyone with mental illness and throw them out to. They are higher instance of suicide also.
