I will be leaving the Army Reserve at the conclusion of my contract in a few months. I have a DD 214 from my Active Duty time. Authoritatively, I can't find much online regarding if I would get a DD 214 from the Reserves (appears not though), an amended DD 214 or a hearty handshake and a "good luck son". What documentation can I expect to receive regarding my time in the Army Reserve? Thanks!

You receive a DD Form 256: Honorable Discharge Certificate or 257: General Discharge Certificate. The DD 214 is only issued after periods of active duty, generally 90 days or longer. There are exceptions to that rule, but you will not receive another 214 after completion of your time in the Reserves.

A DD FORM 256 is what you get when you are discharged from Reserves.

You get orders and another DD214. Are you retiring or just getting out?
