Special Operations Command expects to move into clinical trials next year of a pill that may inhibit or reduce some of the degenerative affects of aging and injury — part of a broader Pentagon push for “improved human performance.”
The pill “has the potential, if it is successful, to truly delay aging, truly prevent onset of injury — which is just amazingly game changing,” Lisa Sanders, director of science and technology for Special Operations Forces, acquisition, technology & logistics (SOF AT&L), said Friday.
“We have completed pre-clinical safety and dosing studies in anticipation of follow-on performance testing in fiscal year 2022,” Navy Cmdr. Tim Hawkins, a SOCOM spokesperson, said.
SOCOM is using Other Transaction Authority (OTA) funds to partner with private biotech laboratory Metro International Biotech, LLC (MetroBiotech) in the pill’s development, which is based on what is called a “human performance small molecule,” he explained.

Seeing the current azimuth of society across the world, I'm not sure I would want to prolong my life past a normal expiration date.

I'm already planning to live forever. So far, so good...
Seriously, if this would safely make that more likely, might be worth a try. Operative word, "Safely". Not ready to volunteer for another military medical experiment. I'd want to a few truckloads more about the compound, its development, manufacture, and what goes into it. Already found that regular consumption of vegetable and fruit concentrates has made a huge difference, both for me personally and in numerous double-blind testing over 3 decades. It would need close to that level of confidence before I'm likely to join in.

Not so sure that's a wise move, but then again it's an idea from the snake eaters.

1LT William Clardy Reminds me of a visit to my college roommates farm for Thansgiving. Pigs go out and we spent half a day rounding them up. Fast forward to Easter and roommates father asked me if I remembered the pig I caught last fall while pointing to the ham on the table.

If it made me healthier for the lifespan I have, it might be worth a try...not so sure about extending my time here though
