How ridiculous. There's no chance of it passing unless they take over the Senate. And then God help us.

I wonder if this would qualify as treason. I suppose It would be determined based on the true motives. Even if they were to take over the Senate the president would have veto power. Do 44 Democrats need to be outed along with their proposal so that their constituents can see what they're up to. I'm sure they wouldn't go over well. They need to be challenged by good upstanding Republicans in their area. Note to Democrats : My comments are not an attack on you. They are directed towards 44 congressmen and women that would actually set in motion such an act. I don't think as democrats you would want to see the United States turned into a 3rd world country either. What would happen would be the powerful would take over and knock down the resistance through the use of force as well as by taking the 2nd amendment away even from democrats that agree with it. I'm sure we are in more agreement than not. Something such as this is bi lateral. We all agree that this is not what the United States is about.

It is not treason to propose legislation, no matter how misguided it is.
What is curious is that this effort is being done on the down-low, with the media and the sponsors doing little to publicize it.
Clearly, that means they know it would be wildly unpopular if examined, which means they are laying down a marker to set policy or maybe even a platform plank at the convention in Milwaukee.
