Is there a such thing as if you're assigned to a MEDDAC assignment you are still subject to be deployed? I'm an OR Tech and I understand that there's CSH/FST units but being in a MEDDAC hospital I wasn't for sure if we stay and continue doing our job while CSH/FST handle deployment duties.

The term is PROFIS (PROfessional FIller System). It allows units to get specialized soldiers for a deployment only (be they combat or humanitarian missions). A doctor, for example, would not normally be assigned to a battalion. if they deploy, the MD is brought over for the duration of the deployment. I've only seen it happen with medical providers. You could dig into AR 601-142 for the details. If you are interested, check out http://www.mods.army.mil/. Click on the volunteer icon on the left side of the screen. It allows MEDDAC soldiers to volunteer for deployments, pending the approval of their chain of command.

I knew about PROFIS docs, but didn't know this could apply to enlisted personel too. Good info SSG N.

I noticed the website in the past, but couldn't take part in it because I wasn't MEDDAC at the time, I was unable to proceed. I just went through the site again. We'll see how it goes.

Yes there's always a possibility. Most likely you only deploy as a delta in meddac if you volunteer. Yes you continue doing whatever it is you're assigned to do in meddac as well.

Considering your MOS, and the fact that you are not a part of the hospitals CSH/FST, then I would be amazed if you somehow found a way to get deployed. Weirder things have happened, but I've never heard of a soldier in your situation getting sent anywhere.
