Jane Fonda special appearance draws Veteran protestors. What do her apologies mean to you?

77-year-old Jane Fonda was at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick for a speaking engagement Friday.
Fonda told the audience she made a "huge mistake'' that led many to think she was against soldiers fighting in Vietnam, and it's something that she'll take to her grave. She says she understands their anger and that it makes her sad.
Fonda drew the ire of many Americans when she visited North Vietnam at the height of the Vietnam War, leading some to call her "Hanoi Jane.''

Some actions deserved to be taken to the grave. Her treachery is one of those unforgivable acts. God forgives, but Americans have an excellent memory. "Hanoi Jane" is going on her tombstone.

Absolutely right. My father also served in Vietnam, and took his disgust for her to the grave. As a veteran my-self, I too will do this. Her actions were and still are unconscionable, and no one should forget OR forgive.

CPT Aaron Kletzing, over the years, she's tried to apologize to some degree, and many of the acts that she's purported to have committed have been shown to be overblown. However, she was wrong overall, and her behavior will never be accepted in the military community, in my opinion. Her apologies to me are hollow and meaningless.

I do not find any forgiveness due for what was treason against the United States in a time of war. I refuse to watch any film she is in and will not allow any items for sale that has come from Her in My house. I am a Viet Nam Veteran and I find the very sight of Her to be disgusting and offensive. Nothing She can possibly say can make up for those acts of evil and I fail to understand why she was never put on trial for treason for these crimes against our country !

This apology is completely self-serving. She thinks this distracts from her latest cause, so she's willing to mumble some seemingly humble words, but then takes it all back in the next sentence.
In her world, veterans just don't understand that she was never against them and it's our fault that we get it wrong.
