Now DEMs are saying we/USA must go to those countries and stop the violence that causes the asylum seekers. So, giving money has not helped. Should we send 2-3 infantry divisions to stop the violence. I thought they did not like deploying and starting wars. While El Sal and Hondo and Gua will love our money...and not stop the violence but they would probably not like American troops down there. (In the early 1900s, US Marines were all over La Am. )

We should not send troops. We should send the Democrats. Make them all Peace Corps volunteers and ship them south to fix the problems. No guns, they don't believe in that.

Ma'am, if we could do to countries we invade today what we did to Germany and Japan, I would be very ok sending forces. Central America is beautiful, the people great, and start them from scratch with a military government like in 1945, it would be win win. We cannot the world would go nuts, hell there are Mexicans still upset with Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Side note, imagine how well off Mexico would be today if we kept Mexico City in 1848.

I've recently returned from Honduras. The only real issue of safety down there is the drug cartels (and the driving skills of Hondurans in general). Anyone who says ALL Hondurans are poor, starving and destitute...well, they are lying. EVERYONE has a cell phone. There are a large number of very nice cars down there. Everyone has a job of some sort. Their infrastructure does suck, though. Their government is corrupt, but the people are working on fixing that. Their education system could use some revamping as while kids go to school....most usually don't make it through middle school. You should see the malls in Tegucigalpa (the capital). They are a lot nicer than the malls in the US.

MSG (Join to see), I had a great time while in Hondo during my times in both USEMB an Palmerola. You are correct, the main issue over there are the Maras and teh drive from Comayagua to Tegu, not for the weak.
