It is, but "It's okay to be scared. Being scared means you are about to do something really, really brave. " [Mandy Hale in the Single Woman].
You are not alone- your veteran brothers and sisters have your 6!

Wonderful words! I admit that I have experienced such lows that I felt it would be easier being dead than alive. That was how upside down my life was. I could not connect with any of my therapists. It was my personal war. The seminal moment, the threshold I crossed, my Rubicon was eliminating reasons to die with a reason(s) to live. My reason was to live for the family as I did not want to pain the family and suicides' often runs in families. It committed me to the only direction I would go. I feel like a bird with wings that have healed, but I will never fly the same.

SFC Richard Williamson - I thank you for your diligence and compassion. For years I have bitched about having PTSD until it dawned on me that I could connect with some PTSD veterans. I was given a tool that I never asked for. I could look into their eyes and see the hurt and confusion. It gave me the perspective to describe their conditions which gave me a sense of validity. Then if the opportunity arises, I can smile and say, "I know how you feel, and I want to help you." And at the end of the personal coaching over months, if they are smiling, then I know their lives are better. Changing peoples' lives for the better is rewarding, and it gives meaning and purpose to my life.
