I re-enlisted to go to Aberdeen Proving Ground about eight months ago, I am aware that if I get promoted to E-6 while still at my current duty station it will change my orders. Is there any kind of paperwork I can do to keep APG if I do get promoted?

If you were promotable when you reenlisted you were slotted for a SSG spot. There's nothing for you to do.

SGT (Join to see) if you get promoted before you leave, your Career Counselor sends a request to HRC to see if they can slot you into a SSG slot at the location. It's called validating the assignment. If they can that's all there is. If they can't then you renegotiate your contract. There is no paperwork to present, nothing for you to do
