Should I go on my first deployment, or stay in Italy?

I'm a Reservist, and I am currently on a tour here in Italy. The orders end right before FY18, but I was offered an extension until FY19. I also received an offer to go on my first deployment (which is really important to me, because I firmly believe all NCOs should have one) and it'll involve travelling between Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. I will transfer to AD upon REFRAD of either assignment.

Well, you certainly have some great options to mull over. But, I think you already answered your own question when you stated that all NCOs should have a deployment.

Staff Sergeant, that is true as it gets. I'm still a specialist, but I am close to hitting points for E-5, so that deployment sounds mighty fine right now. I will definitely try to hop on this deployment either it be this or the following rotation.

Did you join the army for fun, travel and adventure? Italy is fun, it's traveling but it's not adventure.

Sir, I completely understand. I feel the same exact way. Though, some leaders keep telling me how difficult it is to get stationed in Europe while Active Duty, so this may be my one time to ever live here. My call to duty is very great, so it is a very difficult decision for me. At the end of the day, you are correct and I want an adventurous life.

I guess I'm saying that I can buy a ticket to Italy and go when/where I want... Deployments are a discriminator.

I am going to put this bluntly - Deploy - as the MAJ said, having a deployment is a major discriminator - for career progression, having a deployment puts you ahead of your peers.
