SSG William Jones, the quote at the bottom of the meme is taken from General Douglas MacArthur’s “Duty, Honor, Country” speech, given to the Corps of Cadets at West Point on May 12, 1962.

Here's another little tidbit for you, SSG William Jones, although this is more than you bargained for, I'm sure!
Your comment, "Pray for peace. Prepare for war" comes from the ancient Roman phrase (in Latin), "Si vis pacem, para bellum", which means literally "If you want peace, prepare for war."
If you look at the Latin, you'll see "para bellum", which means prepare for war. We see the word parabellum everywhere, because that's the name of one of the most common and popular bullets ever manufactured; the 9mm Parabellum! PREPARE FOR WAR!

That reminds me of what is buried in the base of the main flag pole on every U.S. Army fort. No need for elaboration other than I wonder if they transitioned from .45 ACP to 9 Mike.

Well to be honest as a soldier it makes sense to simultaneously prepare for war even while praying for peace, my friend and brother-in-Christ SSG William Jones
Thank you, my friend LTC Stephen C. for providing the background. Here is a video of the speech which every USMA cadet and USMA graduate is very aware of since that point.
