OK, SCOTUS says the new map is valid. Have you ever noticed that some of these district maps look like a starfish or squid on paper. IMO that is Gerry-mandering. Districts should look like blocks on paper, not fingers reaching.

SGT (Join to see) are the red areas the new redlining strategy to return the country to a "red line district identification" that confines like-groups, like-economics, lije-nrighborhoods together. As I studied the new map drawn for my Congressional district, I see the poorest counties bundled together and only a few economically stable and politically diverse counties here and there. And the more successful counties bundled together. I also pulled antique maps that clearly use red lines to mean exactly what I am seeing develop in the 21st century United States.

The truth is that both parties do it. The change is that SCOTUS recently decided that Jim Crow is dead. Therefore, the Democrats in the administrative state don't get to prevent red states in the south from doing what the rest of the country does: gerrymander along party, not racial, lines. With the whole country except the wannabe Confederate States of America gerrymandered to the hilt, there was a slight advantage for Democrats. When all 50 states are gerrymandered to the hilt, the advantage is solidly Republican.
Would we be better off with party-agnostic distract maps? ABSOLUTELY!!! The problem is that the maps are created by humans. And "non-partisan" redistricting committees gerrymander in favor of Democrats, just slightly less than the max, 100% of the time.

I don't care who does it is, gerrymandering should not be allowed. I don't care whether there are races of people cut out or not, gerrymandering is anti-democratic.
