I'm starting a real estate investment club after tax season. Our focus is on tax deeds and certificates. So far we are 15 members. Each member contributed $2000.00. Everything we do is transparent to the entire club, we have a board of elected officers consisting of a treasurer, president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. New officers are elected each year. Collectively we choose on how and what the club will invest in by a majority vote. Every quarter dividends are paid out to the members based upon net profits for the quarter. Funds are held in a escrow account and managed by a third party accountant that does not have an interest in the club. All club business is transparent. We currently operate in three states; Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the Virginia D.C. Area. Our goal is to create leverage by building multiple company's within the club to increase each members leverage, net worth, and liquid assets in order to find more deals without assistance from hard money and banks with high interest rates! Our goal is to obtain 2.5 million in equity within the first year, and create extensive portfolios for each member in order to find multiple deals.

I see this is a year old post but of interest to me. I have been investing in real estate for over ten years. My goal is to replace my W-2 income and build from there. I would like to invest in my first commercial multifamily within one year from now. I have currently invested in eight single family properties in four states providing strong positive cash flow.

I am always interested in expanding my education and enjoy networking with others. I attended a syndication function recently and listen to several podcasts including Bigger Pockets, Jason Hartman, The Real Estate Guys and Sovereign Man.

Right now, I'm in the the process of using my VA Loan to purchase a duplex. I plan on living in one side, renting rooms out and renting the otherside as a whole.
Also, I use the stock markets to better leverage myself in Real Estate. There is one ticker in particular that I've been getting a good return on and a monthly dividend ($O).

Future, I would love to own homes near a military installation, college campus or section 8.

Did you get your duplex? Remember that you can also use your VA loan for a fourplex.
