He should be held in the books as a loss therefore they don’t need his number to count towards their umbers. They are probably harassing him

Personally if he is a half-stepper cut him loose and nail him on his DD-214 re-up code just in case as a contingency plan if he decides that he wants his job back. Let him go home. Failure to follow procedures to maintain a military standard to be done by all is a reality that when you take an oath either maintain it or ask for release.

This Soldier should have already taken the exit(Army and VA) physical exam and the unit should have the Soldier annotated as a loss. The chain of command must keep in mind that of the Soldier is injured during the APFT and the Soldier chooses to pursue medical care this will push the Soldier past the ETS date. Unless things have changed this is reportable to BDE and DIV because now the unit has a non mission capable individual plus the individual is past the ETS date. My exit physical exams exempted me from taking an APFT and it was annotated in my out processing packet.

Yep he would be non-deployable and count against them on the USR if they still do that.

I was harassed like this for the last 3 months of my service. Back to back guard duty, pt test every week, fat boy program when I wasn't overweight (guy put his foot on the scale), and I was supposed to be PCS'ing to Germany and reuping for the 3rd time. Phone calls in the middle of the night, and you know why? I refused to do a horizontal favor for a married SSgt in my chain of command. He even tried to get me court martialed in my last 5 days in the unit and had a Capt help him with it. The Capt who I didn't even know actually showed up at my door 2 weeks later and asked me for a date. You can guess what my answer was.....colorful and very BLUE. I was on career status and that SSgt told me he would "tank" my career if I didn't. Well he did and I didn't!!

I am no longer surprised at the stories behind the stories that large organizations with lots of people in them produce; and, the silliness inherent in some of them are due primarily to the fact that all people including soldiers are actually humans and can do marvelous things and also screw up a 2 car funeral. Most of us just do what we need to do and avoid complicating things beyond basic contradictions inherent in complicated scenarios. We have a lot of our best war stories about creeps that did this kind of stuff.

They are not supposed to give a pt test. It needs to be no physical activity his last 30 days so he doesn’t hurt himself.

Nope all wrong. He should be clearing post and all his affairs. Should be off all access rosters and duty. Say he breaks a leg during that unneeded test, comes up in a cast. Can not ETS, has healing problems is disabled. Now, what have we done?

MAJ (Join to see) in 2013 I was required to tap and weight while being in an MEB but I was not required and not allowed to do any PT. This was due to profiles. The only activity I was allowed a pool by the doctors this was not allowed by my NCO’s and CO of the company. While dealing with the MEB I did see a lot of differences with profiles and exits. It seemed to all be case by case due to circumstances.

nothing surprises me with bad leadership. After I was stop lossed volunteered to go to Iraq out of leonardwood I was told I couldn't clear in my DCU's because it would scare the recruits and wanted me to show up to formation in civilian clothes like a bag of shit getting chaptered. I simply told this "leadership" I refused to show up to formation out of uniform.
