Is it wise to professionally confront my wife’s NCO if her leave was disrupted?

Is it wise to professionally confront my wife’s NCO? They disrupted her leave and forced her to go to work on things that are not mission essential. although she took leave for a very sensitive and personal matter and did everything that was tasked to her. Now, she is very upset, and so am I. Enough to want to give her NCO’s a piece of my mind. Has anyone done something like this before?

If she was a civilian would you go to her boss and talk to him? It is her boss not yours. She can handle it. It never ends well when a spouse goes to complain to the other's boss.

I have never seen anyone be arbitrarily pulled off leave in 22 years. Do not insert yourself. If there is any push back, it needs to be your wife using the open door policy or a one on one with her supervisory chain. Spouses ‘helping’ tends to have second and third order unintended consequences.

Personally I would advise you against inserting yourself in the matter. Sometimes what we view as "not mission essential" is in the Commanders eye quite essential.
As a leader I have had the unpleasant task of recalling Soldiers from leave on behalf of the Commander for missions and have myself been recalled. This is a part of the sacrifices required in service. Don't have to like it but it's all part of 20.

It most certainly was the commander who recalled the troop. As a NCO, have you ever recalled a soldier from leave without the commander requesting it?

SGT Tony Clifford - Never, that's the Commanders discretion.
However with some of the ate up crap I see posted it wouldn't surprise me if a command buck sergeant major didn't over estimate their authority.
