What is everyone's favorite firearm?

My first M1911 was given to me by my grandpa when I was 8 years old (about 60 years ago.) It was on he purchased from the Army during the war while he worked for the Railway Express Agency, which was deemed an important occupation at the time and he did not enter military. No finer side arm has ever been put into the hands of the American soldier. But H&K, Sig or Beretta. I have a Beretta 92 (aka M9) while it is a fine weapon, nothing beats the M1911 in my hands or mind. I qual'd expert with it, carried it for over two years while on active duty. Shot it as often as I could find an excuse to sign out some ammo and get to the range. I now load all my own ammo and that allows me to show that barrel off my .45. After several thousand rounds my Kimber Custom Target II is still like new. John Browning was a true genius, master engineer and the firearms he designed prove that out.

I've heard good things, but have yet to play with one... I'll have to get one!

YES! Sig Saur makes the sweetest 9 mm out there.

I have a P250 SC 9mm and I think it's great. It's plenty small enough to conceal but big enough to not feel like a pea shooter. Its accurate too. I don't think I've ever shot better with anything. If you go with the Compact or full size you can easily swap out parts to change calibers if you choose.

The 226 and 229 are nice too.

I've shot the Sig 516 as well. The one thing I didn't like about it was the handguard. It was made entirely of metal so the rifle was real front heavy.
