It's a great CCW weapon because it's flat, doesn't have protrusions that poke your body, doesn't weigh too much. In the right hands, it will kill anything out there. Downside is fewer bullets, but if you can shoot well, you don't need a lot of ammo.

SMSgt Thor Merich One of the reasons given when the NYPD was slow to transition from revolver to semi automatic was that officers involved in shootings rarely exceeded five rounds. Though finding an actual statistic that is independently verified is impossible. Like you said if you train with your weapon, and employ judicious marksmanship, then it shouldn't matter how many rounds you have in the weapon.

Nothing says hello or I love you like a .45 caliber copper jacketed messenger. Its what I carry every day. Somehow, I don't know why, but the business end of that barrel looks a whole lot bigger than just under a half inch. It rightfully should scare the hell out of anyone, especially right before the round smacks into them.

SMSgt Thor Merich - I carry a Ruger P94DC. I feel the same way you do about yours. I wish mine was blued, but its a bright and shiny hello at times.

I would rather carry a 1911/1911A1 any time. As someone else said it you know how to use the weapon correctly you don't have to have a butt load of ammunition.
