I'd like to gauge involvement in a national program called Project Healing Waters. Any current participants?
I am an assistant Program Lead for our local chapter, and I want to get as many Vets involved as possible. If you're a vet, with an s/c disability, who wants to learn about fly-fishing, with no cost to you, get in touch.

NEW ENGLAND - Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing
Our Programs rely on Fly Fishers International (FFI), Trout Unlimited (TU), and independent fly fishing clubs to conduct our programs at the DOD and VA facilities across the region.

Sounds interesting. I meet the qualification and have been fly-fishing since my brief assignment to Ft Bragg in 1967. Later as a civilian spook I had a briefcase-sized rod from Eagle Claw that I could take on TDYs to D.C. rarely have the opportunity now, but still vividly remember casting flies in Germany with the mandatory salute of “Petri, Heil!” Have a rig ready to give nine-old grandson next week. Looking forward to teaching the joys of “not fishing” in which the bard is cut off from the hook and you cast about only to stimulate a strike, with no intention of keeping your catch. It,s a wonderful stimulant to prayer and meditation, when the last thing I want it’s to be disturbed by a hungry fish.
