"I was awarded a service dog last year and he has made a tremendous difference in my life. If you visit the site you'll see me shown under the "alums". It's a very small NPO — but quality over quantity is my best description. I wish more vets knew about this org — they need a larger "pool" of vets to choose recipients from.

My dog's name — by pure coincidence — is also 'PAUL.' Crazy — but true. This guy somehow (dog magic?) has allowed me to drop ALL meds prescribed from VA — I simply did not need them anymore. I can't explain it — but for some a Service Dog is the answer. I'm living proof." — CPT Paul Whitmer

GOT YOUR SIX SUPPORT DOGS

Got Your Six Support Dogs is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We are committed to providing specialized service dogs to veterans and first-responders suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and/or sexual trauma. Our mission is to help these men and women regain their lives through the healing power of dogs.

Our organization began due to the need of veterans and first-responders requesting PTSD service dogs when all other methods of treatment have failed. A service dog can truly change the life of an individual suffering from PTSD. We not only train service dogs and then match them with their lifelong owners, but we also train therapy dogs so that they can serve local area residents in nursing homes, hospitals, schools, etc.
