Why is the assumption that being physically fit the only criteria... There are more factors than PT standards...

I just dissagree with you, and stopped answering some of your questions because they were incorrect. Like telling me I get my WARNO from my company. I am a Battalion CSM, we give the orders to my companies. A WARNO is a warning order, its like a prepratory order. You not knowing the basic levels of leadership at even my level forced me to believe you didnt really comprehend my opnion. I simply believe physical fitness is part of the total Soldier concept. Its not the only piece, and its not even the most important piece, however, it is a piece. You used anecdotes such as the president, yet failed to recognize the proximity from the front lines and direct action leadership. Those levels on the ground in the maneuver forces make up the majority of combat power in the Army. That is the blanket statements I was making. Not the one off examples of one situation where physical fitness doesnt matter. One of my main focuses as a CSM is to ensure my professionals have what they need to excel thier craft. They are the ones who are asking for more gym time and better equipment. If you have the opportunity to see Fort Bragg during PT hours you would see how important it is in the maneuver world. You had the opportunity to view my profile so you should know that is where I spent the majority of my career. This is where I build my opinion. I analyzed the current threat in a near peer advisary where ground troops are still essential in urban environments, and conclude that physical fitness is still vital. For some reason, you took this concept completely out of context and made it seem like I was an arrogant boasting fool. If you truely had the opportunity to meet me, you would most definitely know that is not me. I have spent the majority of my career developing Soldiers and Leaders and this is my recipe. It may not be the only one, but this is what I believe is effective. My Soldiers are very well trained in their tasks and drills, morale is incredible, they are ready for combat and physically fit. CSM Michael Chavaree I don't care about what you think is incorrect because I already made a declaration on reality. Also.. you need class time, martial arts drills, tactical tutelage, equipment maintenance, there is more than gym to training....

I never mentioned a gym at all. I mentioned physical fitness. We are done here. Obviously this convo is going nowhere. Cpl Benjamin Long
