When I was in Gitmo during the Cuban Boatlift 1994-95, there were lots of iguanas on the US side, but on the Cuban side there were few, and almost extinct. With the rationing of chickens for the by the Cuban gov...(we were told they got one chicken every 2 weeks for chow.) Iguanas taste like chicken. Iguanas were eaten on the communist side. Cubans were so amazed that there were so many iguanas on the US side. Florida might ship the iguanas to Cuba, seems like they do not over populate there. Can't out run hungry communist. Venezuela may be looking for some chow or Iguanas.

I suppose....

Yes,....ooopppss, I did not eat it because I think it was endangered in Gitmo. But, in the camps, when an iguana went through a camp, it often was found on the illegal home made stoves. So, I guess I heard about it from Cuban migrants in our camps. :)

As I'd said, actually, I have read that about reptiles, generally, I've never had such things, though my wife tends to watch the food channels, so sometimes one sees such offbeat meats used as ingredients on various shows, in occasion, you know?
