Your logic is sound, Ms. Lovato. I understand he has regressed and wrote about it in the article on my page. In short, his situation with San Francisco was nothing short of abysmal. Revolving door with the coaching staff as well as the retirements from both sides of the ball were certainly a part in his regression.

His inconsistency from what I've seen lies with his accuracy. He's overthrown open receivers on numerous occasions, however his ability to make things happen with his legs is certainly an asset under center. For insurance for a starting QB (like the Seahawks could certainly use), a GM could do worse than Kaepernick I'd think.

I believe a lot of teams are avoiding him more for fear of media/fan backlash at the signing due to the protests from last year. My response to that; is what Kaepernick did really as much of a red flag as what guys like Ray Rice, Greg Hardy (who got a second chance with Dallas), Josh Brown, and Michael Vick (we all know his story) did?

Definitely not, but if memory serves- those guys were all still pretty good. People have a short term memory if you're still good at the job you're getting paid to do. Adrian Peterson and Big Ben are others that come to mind. I don't know that any of those guys should still be playing the game.

I guess for me, what it comes down to is this: all distractions aside- can you perform? I don't blame any owner for not signing him as a QB. You're right that they could certainly do worse, but is it worth the potential cost?

Personally I think the Chargers should sign him as a backup. Probably wouldn't impact whatever fan base they have left.

PO2 (Join to see) - Chargers are definitely another good fit. I wonder how their move to Los Angeles will work for them..

I think if he's willing to sign to earn the veteran minimum he could wait and pounce on an opportunity to earn a starting gig. Certainly what I'd do in his shoes.
