NFL to Increase Political Correctness: Play Black National Anthem and Increase Social Justice Messages

From Commissioner Roger Goodell: “Without Black players, there would be no National Football League and the protests around the country are emblematic of the centuries of silence, inequality and oppression of Black players, coaches, fans and staff. We are listening, I am listening, and I will be reaching out to players who have raised their voices and others on how we can improve and go forward for a better and more united NFL family.”

How much professional sports players are paid is not the issue I'm seeing. They aren't the only profession in our society that has garnered an outsized salary to their actual value, while others (like teachers, nurses, first responders) are far, far under-valued. What I'm seeing is resentment from Americans in the majority, that anyone in the minority might seek recognition of their communities in some other way. It may well be that the NFL top brass are being "politically correct" or even pandering; or - that this was something that the Player's Association wanted - I don't know. But how does it harm ANYONE that a different aspect of our shared American history might be highlighted by the playing of a song?

COL John McClellan sir, if we are all Americans then why play a Black National Anthem? Seems we have done well with the one we have.

I absolutely love how literally none of the players have asked for that, but you guys are already so mad about it.

COL John McClellan - RE: "But how does it harm ANYONE that a different aspect of our shared American history might be highlighted by the playing of a song?"
First, because it's presented as the "Black" National Anthem. To me, that smacks of segregation. We HAVE a "National Anthem," that rightfully should be, and is, for ALL Americans, regardless of race. Yes, yes, there have been serious inequities in our past history, but all this emphasis on ANY single race, does absolutly nothing towards unifying people. As I said, it SEGREGATES.

Let's see... just this week there were NFL players that had been involved in very serious illegal activities. One was domestic violence, and the other was home invasion/attempted murder, Maybe, maybe Goodall should focus on educating the players not to break the law. Don't worry about window dressing, when the window is cracked and falling out of its frame.... same think GEN Milley is doing worrying about "woeness" when the military as it is currently staffed and armed will have a very hard time defeating our current enemies...
