SNAFU. SNAFU has a long history, dating from WWII. It also has flexibility: Situation Normal, All Fouled Up or Situation Normal, All F**ked Up. SNAFU made it into some everyday usage outside of the Military. Of course, SNAFU is a surprisingly accurate appraisal of many situations in the military.

I can’t imagine the life of a Sr NCO, the things he sees and what he knows probably keeps him up at night. At that level I’d assume he’s seen it all.

I would love to but we're actually getting ready to go to an OPORD brief for an upcoming FTX and then we need to take the HMMWV to the DFAC to pick up the MREs for the Soldiers working in the TOC.

Ft. Hood, Tx. 94' Three Master Gunners standing in the motor pool talking gunnery. The BN.CSM walks up, just stands there listening for a moment with a look of confusion on his face. He says "I'm not sure what language you NCO's are speaking but it sounds like you know what you are talking about". 1-5 Cav. Black Knights.
