These are good looking Helicopters, but I don't know how good they would be in Jungle landings.
Right now, they would work well in Desert situations. I'm assuming they will be used as combat situation Helicopters. The article read they are looking into being used as Med-Vac helicopters.

I understand the draw of an unmanned helicopter, but I'd prefer a human pilot in a tense situation any day.

PO3 David Fries You've got that right brother. In some of the situations we were in, in Vietnam, an unmanned helicopter couldn't have done it.

Technologically, I can obv understand the reasons, certainly, especially from a purely human safety standpoint, and I'd read of that effort before, though one tends to wish such recourse weren't necessary, nonetheless. Will it happen? Certainly, eventually, that much is clearly unavoidable, as well as obv warranted, given that the safety for the patient would be adequate, clearly, of course, many thanks.

What about Sikorsky's X2 program? The S-97 raider looks really promising.
