Several of my direct descendants in the Civil War were in Co. L, 15th MO Cav Rgt, CSA. One of them was 19 and 6' 4" tall and the other was 33 and had also served in the 30th AR Inf Rgt, CSA (my mother's side). On my father's side, my relatives mostly served in IN Inf Rgts, USA. One relative was the first man in the 33rd IN Inf Rgt who was killed in the war ("Battle of Camp Wildcat", KY - AKA "Battle of Rockcastle Hills", 21 Oct 1861: Pvt Lewis McFerran): The "luck of the Irish" in true fashion! On the opposing side of the battle, through my mother's line, I had a relative in the 5th TN Inf Rgt, CSA...ironic!
