How do Green to Gold hip pocket scholarships work?

I want to go Green to Gold and apply for a hip pocket scholarship. I’m looking for some more information. Since it’s not the active duty option, if selected, what happens to your remaining obligation? Are you able to be reserves or guard while in school? I have a child on the way and the thought of not having a paycheck is a little daunting.

You should attend the G2G briefing at your Ed center. There are several different G2G programs and each one has different answers to your question.
If you're selected for one of the non AD options, you have no more enlistment obligation when you commission. You incur a new service obligation as an officer.

Along with attending G2G briefing at education center, talk with prospective school's recruiting officer to learn more about involvement and details. ROTC cadets are college students first and foremost
