This fall I will be submitting a ROTC Green to Gold ADO packet. I’ve asked a lot of acceptants, officers, and ROTC recruiters; the general answer to the above question is that the board is mainly focused on everyone’s GPA, and as long as you have a respectable PT score and a passing GT, there should be no issues.

I’ve been told that previous awards and positions don’t really matter or are looked at, as long as your OMPF is valid. How true is that?

Does age play a factor into this? I’m 22 years old.

Last but not least, how competitive do you think my numbers are? My recruiter sent me the national averages for those accepted in 2018, I matched them up to mine below.

Age/Rank - 22 years old, SPC (joined October 2016)
My GPA - 3.85 72 credits | National Avg - 3.30 GPA
My PT - 250 (retake soon) | National Avg - 280
GT Score - 120 | National Avg - 118

Plan on having a LOR from BDR CDR, previous BDE CDR and BDE XO, and my current CC.

Sounds like you are as good a candidate as any.
It is normal to stress, but it will come out as it is supposed to.
If you are destined to become a Lieutenant and get your platoon lost in the woods, then it was meant to be.
Good luck.

I believe that you are over thinking it. You'll do fine. You know answers come slow in the Army unless they are telling you someone died. I wish you good luck. And if you do become an Officer, don't forget where you came from.

Update to those who read this late - I was accepted back in January. I’ll begin the program this upcoming Fall (2020).
