Unusual Situation: I was a G2G (scholarship - so discharged from AD) cadet that just Commissioned as 2LT December 2020 and am currently attending TIOPC [login to see] ), but my report date to Active Duty for BOLC is not until April 2021. I am currently awaiting notification on status for Gold Bar Recruiting from Brigade S-2 (only applicant for my battalion). Is there a way to back date the AD orders to the start of this course for benefits purposes if I am to get awarded the opportunity to be the GBR? Or is there any regulation that states I would be able to get paid while attending this course otherwise? I have spoken with Professor of Military Science and they are uncertain of how regulations apply to my situation.

Thank you for any and all guidance.

It will all come with the official notification and orders for GBR. The Army doesn't take a dump without a set of orders.

COL John McClellan Sir, any insight here on process for Gold Bar Recruiting?

Thank you for the response, sir. To clarify, I am enrolled and currently taking the course even though I never received any type of orders to duty or for the course and was trying to figure out how orders might work in this situation. From my understanding, I am currently in the IRR (until reporting to BOLC), but aren't Reservists paid for courses they take?

Respectfully,

2LT (Join to see) typically if you are in a drilling or ADT status, yes. But you would have orders outside a BTA. The orders are the funding vehicle. So your “official notification” should come with orders. I can’t believe your cadre doesnt know how a Cadet Command specific program works
