Very interesting. We weren't issued steel pots, but I didn't realize there were Marines operating without steel pots. Excellent narration.

MSG Felipe De Leon Brown - That's exactly what matters Felipe. You know what you did and you have nothing to prove to others. My twin brother got his CIB when he came under fire during a helicopter resupply and CIB was on 214. He never got the orders and when he asked for orders many years later, Army denied him saying he wasn't eligible. Its been a back and forth for years even with letters from people he was with at the time. Unfortunately most of his friends and command were killed in a Shithook shootdown. Like you Felipe, he knows what he did.

PO2 Frederick Dunn - I love it. I have the convenient excuse of having part off my brains blown out. But like my Chemistry professor told me that I was struggling with the class because of my inability to do some types of abstract thinking: "That's everybody else's excuse?" Obviously Fred, you and I have had some issues with our brains, but don't you look a some of those ignorant posts from others on some threads and wonder what happened to their brains?

PO2 Frederick Dunn - I'm having a good laugh right now. It's not about you or for any reason you might guess. It's about a huge coincidence. This morning I changed my profile substantially. No wonder you see things you never saw before -- they weren't there before. I'm sorry for the confusion. It wasn't intentional. I had no way of knowing anyone would be reading my profile anytime soon. I just had to get in there about how I had been "an extra good boy" while in the Army I got that from a Willie and Joe cartoon many decades ago, and finally found an opportunity to use it.

SPC Nancy Greene - You got a bad break. Who knows how far you could have gone on active duty had your injuries not happened? There were a lot of guys in the era that I earned my wings who were in better physical condition than me, more muscular and definitely stronger. They dropped out and some, just before or right after their first jump also quit. I have more respect for all who wanted the opportunity to be Airborne but weren't able to than those who had the chance and quit.

MSG Felipe De Leon Brown I still wast ‘to jump out of a perfectly good plane’! Am hoping some Veterans Day it will become a reality! I know Ft Bragg takes ‘old vets’ in jumps and that’s what I want to do...some ‘big’ jump master can strap my 5’2” body to theirs and I can just go along fir the ride and the rush! lol
Without the injuries, I would have stayed and retired and then completed my education; however, I am a firm believer things happen fir a reason and I wouldn’t change a thing! MSG Felipe De Leon Brown

SPC Nancy Greene - Agree. It does seem that things happen for a reason but I must confess that if I could change a few things in my past, I would. lol
