Military Vets - did you ever VOLKSMARCH in Germany?
There are volksmarches in the United States - more than 2,500 events a year sponsored by more than 200 US volkssporting clubs with walks of all types and in all 50 states!! These range from city walk, to beach walks, to more challenging hikes in state or National Parks! To find a local walking club and look for events, check out -- AVA: America's Walking Club!! You can even still use your old IVV Books with the stamps!!

Yes, I did several in Germany. I also did some in Colorado Springs with a friend from Germany who was a member of something...somewhere. We would go to a location, I think like a 7-11 and he would get his stamp and we would run the routes.

MSG Lance Kelly - that's awesome! Yes - there is a club in Colorado Springs - the Falcon Wanderers. I was a member when stationed there from 2003-2006. They maintain "walk boxes" that contain permanent (or Year-Round) volksmarching trails in that area! These are the same essentially as those you did in Germany! 216 clubs like this in the USA, with more than 1800 of these trails; and, also "live events" on many weekends. Thanks for replying!
