John I when I see an old war dog with his/her VFW hat on or something indenting them as a vet, Vietnam, Korea, WWII I make it a point to shake their hand and sincerely thank them. I have done it in front of my son since he was a pup. I think some of it has rubbed off

I do all the time Jeff. Working for AT&T I come into contact with many Veterans. I do try to thank them. Most are very humble and say I was doing my Job... Have a great day LTC Jeff Shearer

I remember a while back I saw an old vet in the grocery store. He had his VFW hat on. I shook his and and thanked him for his service. He said think you but as replied I notice his eyes were filled with tears. I don't think that be thankful and grateful is a cure all however, it is kind of the first step

Thanks my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell the 2010 video which serves as a poignant reminder of why we serve or served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.
Each generation includes those who desire to serve independent of politics and economic circumstances. The majority come from smaller towns and what is termed as flyover country by the elites of this nation who generally have never served on the military.
