Can a Sergeant (P) apply for Staff Sergeant and above housing?

Call housing.

This stuff changes. The most recent base I was at had one thing on their website, but was different when I applied, which was -also- different from what others there before said.

Call. Them. Yourself. Get a name for who you talked to.

I just read all responses and this one is in my opinion the best answer. Nobody here will be able to give you a better answer, than the housing office. To me it seems obvious to just put you into E6, if you could get promoted any month now. And it shouldn't have anything to do, with your BAH bracket because they will take all of it anyways if you live on post. So it would not matter, if you get $1000 or $5000. Bottom Line call yourself to get the best answer.

This is a great answer, and to piggy-back on Sean's response, this stuff changes a LOT, and FREQUENTLY. What is "truth" today may change after this weekend, and then again on the first of the month.

And, ohmygod, make SURE you get a name for who you spoke with!! That helps on SO many levels!!

Call your self and make a note of whom you spoke with! And tel # - extension just in case!!

I can tell you when I was SSG (P) the housing put me in the Senior NCO housing area. That was awhile ago so I would just call the housing office. I am sure the put SSG with SGT now in certain housing areas.
