Some DACA recipients came legally as kids and ended up overstaying because their parents never left. The article makes it seem like all DACA recipients came illegally, which is not true.

It appears that Trump is keeping the original DACA memo in force. For those that question RedState, the New York Times is reporting the same thing.

I sincerely believe if you entered the US illegally, you have committed a crime. The just punishment for that crime, as a minimum, is deportation. Ending DAPA is a good move because it helps deter "anchor babies" among other things. Deporting criminal illegal aliens is also a great program--the more and the sooner the better. Finally, I have concerns with DACA, the "dreamers." The children brought into the US illegally are still illegal aliens. Their parents committed a crime bringing them in. They should be deported with their patents. If they are unaccompanied minors, then we should consider returning them to the countries from which they came as long as that country's social services or charitable institutions will care for them. BTW, I do agree with the Dreamers attending American schools as long as they learn English. What to do when they reach adulthood is a difficult problem. I could see deporting them as adults to the country from which they came. I also see that this means the education we gave them may be wasted. Congress needs to work out how the US handles law-abiding Dreamers when they reach adulthood.

The so-called "Dreamers" are not all children anymore. Many have reached adulthood, some quite some time ago. IMV, they should be given a path to a green card. I think most people could live with that. Where the rub comes is over the question of giving them a path to citizenship ... and whether granting them legal (green card) status allows them to umbrella any other relatives that are illegally in the U.S.

Green card okay for individual dreamer. No citizenship. No extension to other family.
