ICE appears to have intentionally destroyed all video evidence related to the death of a transgender immigrant detained at the border. She had been in custody for about two weeks, waiting to be deported, when she died.

Well that’s convenient. Lets allow any physical evidence that could be used for an investigation be erased automatically. Not suspicious at all for a government contracted facility.

I don't know the truth of any of this. I can say that our video system will overwrite previous video after a specific period of time. Is that true here? I don't know.

SFC John Wade - I’m not specifically addressing this individual. I was addressing the issue around tape being deleted. It happens all too often in cases with questions.

SFC John Wade - the last I will write on this. This happens in our system way too much. It may well be as you say in this case, but I firmly believe there is way too much of the things I mentioned before. To believe otherwise is to be putting blinders on.
