Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. In my view there are too few compliments given and even fewer know how to respond.
Serioiusly, a real compliment can go a long way toward building a relationship, helping someone's self esteem, reinvigorating someone who is losing focus. But it has to be "real" not a "throwaway" When you take the time to really get to know people, what they are doing, and what they value, your compliments can really carry some weight. I've seen it in action!
Is there someone you know who could use a boost?

My German friends had an expression: Ein Amerikanisch Kompliment ! meaning an empty gesture that lacked sincerity especially: “Please do come over anytime and drop in” but we didn’t really mean it. I used to work on dispelling this perception of us.

I expect that the LORD has blessed you with a measure of humility and that you are spiritually mature enough to receive complements with grace and to complement those who provide service to you and those you love including family and friends. I hope that you and I are devoid of impulses to impress or to seek to be impressed by flattery. 'Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.' [Philippians 2:3-4 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray for discernment, alertness to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and humility for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer of hears it. In this age when advertisers luring us to fall for their ploys and deceptive people intent on changing the meanings of words and phrases and declaring reasonable speech to be hate speech, we need the LORD’s help to respond properly with grace and wisdom. I hope and pray that you and I are alert to the Holy Spirit and HIS prompting as we listen or watch people attempting to fool us into believing their errors in judgement, deceptions and/or evil intentions. ‘And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. [2 Corinthians 12-15 ESV]
I lift the journalists, editors, and others involved in publishing and broadcasting ‘news’ and opinion to appear as fact because they believe they impress people by their power of influence. I pray for an increase of discernment and wisdom for the viewers and readers. I pray that many will contact these news outlets and let them know about errors and biased reporting/opinions. A rebuke goes deeper into a man of understanding than a hundred blows into a fool. Let a man meet a she-bear robbed of her cubs rather than a fool in his folly.' [Proverbs 17:10, 12 ESV]
I pray for genuine increase of moral courage, honesty, and desire for fairness for each trustworthy legislator, judge, justice, government executive, appointed official, and leader. I pray that YOU bless each with wisdom, great listening skills, and favor in negotiations. ‘Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. [James 1:19-20 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Tuesday night and will awake healthy on Wednesday morning.

You're so right Sgt Vance Bonds - thank you my friends and have a great Tuesday brother...

“Genuine compliments among each other that aren’t expected can bring a lot of joy and happiness to anyone at any time! Don’t forget to tell someone how wonder they are or how great that have made your life or others around them. That reminds me of this quote for today…

‘One compliment can affect a shole lifetime. Be bold and speak life-giving words.’ — Unknown Author

May your day be filled with giving compliments to those who inspire, motivation, and care about you and what you’ve accomplished or currently accomplishing in life for yourself and others, why not? May your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Here a big ‘thank you’ for being a part of the RallyPoint Community and your continued support for Victory for Veterans, Inc, Warriors for Life (WFL), and the many programs that I’ve presented over the years to support our veterans, first responders, active service members, and caregivers on this forum.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

That's a great practice and usually has an effect to make you feel good about doing it and it will be reflected in your personality as well.
